    i was riding in the slow part of the race. i did not see anything like this where i was. in fact, i did not see any real drafting at all. during the first few miles, (on the Kuakini highway), people are pretty close at times but there is really no place to go.

    the leaders went by me near Kawaihae (i was going towards hawi and they were returning). Lieto was a few minutes in front, then a good-sized group but they seemed to be riding clean.

    the faster age-groupers may very well have been drafting as in the photos, but i just wanted to say that from i was riding, the race looked very clean.
