Chris ‘Macca’ McCormack touched down in St Kitts on Friday, March 18, on his way to Nevis, to compete in the Cross Channel Swim (StarMile2.5), the TriStar111 Nevis International Triathlon and other events.

The two-Time Hawaii Ironman Champion will be hosted by the prestigious Four Seasons Resort during his stay on the island, McCormack is the first triathlete to join the likes of Michael Jordan and other international athletes as a Wheaties front man. He is joined by former World Champion Olivier Marceau who will serve as an athlete and ambassador with the TriStar Triathlon company.

McCormack, born on April 4, 1973, is an Australian triathlete who isknown affectionately to the triathlon community as Macca. He began competing on international-distance courses in 1996, winning both the 1997 Triathlon World Championships and the 1997 ITU World Cup Series. To date, no other athlete else has won both titles in a single year.

After shifting focus to longer distance racing, McCormack displayed exceptional aptitude for the distance and won many races. He won Ironman Australia in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. Twice he has finished the Quelle Challenge Roth, an Iron-Distance triathlon in under less than eight hours, a feat only five other athletes have completed.

In 2007 he won the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii . The triumph occurred after six attempts at the race during which he came as close as second within two minutes of the winner in 2006. He again won the Ironman World Championships in November, 2010.

On March 27, the StarMile 2.5 Nevis-St. Kitts Cross-Channel Swim will take place.

On April 2, TriStar 11.1-100 meter Swim, 10km Bike, one km Run (Try-A-Tri)
