During recent ITU event, 2011 USA Triathlon Elite Race Series Finals in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Kemper (Colorado Springs, Colo.) athlete Hunter Kemper crashed on the bike after only one loop.
Sadly, we feel like blaming the « rules » or the « referees » on that one.
The athlete coming out of the swim is clearly lapped by the first cyclists already on the course.
One can always have a bad day and swim poorly, it happens … But why was he allowed on the course ?
This year in Coteau, some slow swimmers were not allowed to start the bike, because the pack was coming …
