Special Auckland > Schedule for the Grand Final -saturday- Juniors and Elite men

A great day of racing today with the U23 women and elite women. Joanna Brown from RTC-Guelph got third and the rest of the team has been pretty solid too. Congrats Ellen, Alison, Domi and Alex! Lauren Campbell, the only canadien racing with the elites, got a solid 21st place with a strong run to finish her day.

Another big day tomorrow as the world’s best juniors will race for that junior world title. Quebec’s Amelie Kretz, who has been dominant in the national junior series, has big expectations this weekend. On her side will be Gabrielle Edwards from Saskatoon who got bronze at junior PATCO champs and  young Samantha Klus (Ottawa) a consistent top 5 finisher on the national scene. The race starts at 5:05pm (eastern time).

On the junior men’s side, Tyler Mislawchuk from Winnipeg, has been without a doubt the strongest junior in Canada this year, taking the national title and a 2nd and place finish at the junior PATCO champs. Mislawchuk is a lightweight and despite the lack of hills in Manitoba, I’m not worried about his watt/kg ratio. With him two agressive Quebec boys: Alexis Lepage (Quebec City) and Gabriel Legault (Boucherville). The junior men’s race will start at 11:05pm eastern time.

The elite men are racing tomorrow as well. Johnny Brownlee (GBR) and Javier Gomez (ESP) will be fighting for the world title. Gomez out ran Johnny at the Olympics stopping the two brothers from a gold-silver performance at home and Brownlee will be looking for a vengeance. They will be racing after the junior women at 8:05pm.

Live chat will be on SATURDAY for the junior and men’s race.
